Welcome to the Healing Hearts Foundation website which is designed to offer comfort and easy access to parents, siblings, friends and families coping with the loss of a child or loved one.

Hearts have capacity to heal when they are genuinely and sincerely connected.

The Healing Hearts Foundation was established in Western Australia in 2001 by bereaved father, Gary Redmond and the Rotary Club of Heirisson.

Botanic Gardens & Parks Authority Site Approval

At their December 2009 Board Meeting the Botanic Gardens & Parks Authority (BGPA) gave firm approval for the Place of Reflection to be built on the Kings Park escarpment adjacent to the Roe memorial.
This is a magnificent location for the Place of Reflection, providing the perfect setting amidst the beautiful flora and fauna of Kings Park for peace, reflection and healing with glimpses through the trees to the Swan River, the city and the hills beyond.
The approval is an exciting step forward for our project which has been under consideration for nearly 6 years. The realization of this dream is now well in sight and it is hoped an opening ceremony will take place before the end of 2010.
Funding and preliminary design work is well under way for this unique facility for those wanting to experience a sense of comfort, solace and peace amongst the natural beauty of our iconic ‘Peoples Park’. This tranquil setting will become a haven for those seeking a place to reflect either alone or with others and to also offer a place of celebration for the lives of those now not with their families.

Those wanting to know more about the Place of Reflection, its origins and purpose should ring Gary Redmond on 0417 217 255 or email gary.redmond@bigpond.com and keep a watch on our website. www.placeofreflection.org

"Healing Hearts" chairman saluted

GARY Redmond has won a City of Nedlands Australia Day honour for his compassionate efforts chairing the Healing Hearts Foundation. Mr Redmond (62) collected the ‘Community Group or Event Award’ at a joint citizenship and Premier’s Awards ceremony on January 23 for his work as executive chairman of the foundation, which supports people around the State who have lost a child.

The Sorrento resident knows first hand of sadness of losing his own son and daughter-in-law after a canyoning tragedy in Interlaken, Switzerland in 1999, which claimed the lives of 21 young people.
